The 23rd Annual Gulf Scrabble Championships

Click to Join The UAE Scrabble Club

The GSC is the ONLY world-ranked tournament for the mind sport in the Arab world.

Every game played at the GSC is rated by the official governing body for Scrabble, WESPA and will affect the international rankings of all players participating. Furthermore the top finishers from each country will qualify for Mattel's Scrabble Champions Tournament in Prague in December 2013. Participation is by invitation only, with individual country associations deciding the means for qualification.

The GSC has taken place every year since 1991. The first 19 editions were held in Bahrain, with Oman hosting the 20th. Since 2011, Dubai has been home to the GSC. This year's tournament is the longest in the history of the GSC with 20 rounds over 3 days.

Spectators are welcome to attend and observe the proceedings at close quarters, especially if they would like to take up tournament Scrabble in the near future. Register your interest in UAE Scrabble and the upcoming World Youth Scrabble Championship in Dubai at the event!
